Luca Ciuffreda, Primark Italy’s Director, announced the news saying the company has gone from “strength to strength – with no intention of slowing down” since it opened its first Italian store in Arese in 2016.

The new sites will open “over the next few years” with four being in new cities for the firm: Porta a Mare shopping centre (Livorno); Metropolis shopping centre, Rende (Cosenza); Maximall shopping centre, Pontecagnano Faiano (Salerno); and a new city centre store in Genoa.

Last year it opened a store in Turin’s Le Gru shopping centre, and a second Turin store in the To Dream shopping centre is on the cards too.

Ciuffreda joined the firm in 2016 on its Italian debut as Store Manager and became Director of Primark Italy more recently.

He said the new stores “will take inspiration from the latest retail innovations and Italian style and architecture. They will have LED lighting, and will also be the first stores in Italy to feature self-service checkouts”.
