**Uniqlo Appoints Chief Operating Officer to Support Founder and CEO**
**Fast Retailing Co., Ltd.**, the parent company of **Uniqlo**, has announced the appointment of **Takuji Yanai** as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Yanai, the son of Fast Retailing founder and CEO Tadashi Yanai, will assume the newly created role on September 1, 2023.
**Takuji Yanai** has been with Fast Retailing since 2001 and has held various leadership positions within the company. Most recently, he served as the Head of Uniqlo’s Global Brands Division, where he was responsible for developing and executing the brand’s global strategy.
In his new role as COO, **Yanai** will support his father, Tadashi Yanai, in managing the day-to-day operations of Fast Retailing and Uniqlo. He will also be responsible for overseeing the company’s global expansion plans and driving its digital transformation.
