Anne Hathaway Wore a Colorful Set Made Entirely of Sequins That Needs to Be Seen

Anne Hathaway is currently in France for the Cannes Film Festival to support her new movie Armageddon Time, which was selected to compete for the coveted Palme d’Or prize at this year’s event. And on the third day of the festival, May 19, the actor brought out a colorful matching set from Schiaparelli that deserves its own award.

The abstract pattern features primary red, blue, and yellow flowers and green accents, with silver sequins threaded throughout the entire outfit. Hathaway has been stepping out a lot lately in bold and colorful looks as she promotes her various projects—especially her Apple TV+ series, We Crashed.

For the Cannes Film Festival, she continues in that spirit with this matching patterned cropped jacket and wide-leg trousers. The cut of the jacket billows to show the structured top of the pants, which are fitted to her without breaking away from the alignment of the design. Sequin embellishments, and no doubt hours and hours of needlework, make this outfit a work of art.

Heels are needed for pants as long as these, and Hathaway chose a pair of black-and-silver stiletto sandals for the look. To further highlight the metallic details in her outfit, her handbag is a small light-gold piece by Bulgari Serpenti. Oversized sunglasses and a ring with a large yellow stone complete the look.

The 39-year-old actor often toggles between the Gen Z–favored middle part and the swooping side part that she wears effortlessly in this case. One thing that stays the same regardless of the outfit is her chestnut haircolor, which shines here in a blowout thanks to hairstylist and Virtue Labs creative director Adir Abergel. Hathaway, who needs to drop her skin-care routine ASAP, went with light makeup, including a soft pink lip, and neutral nails.
