Global Fashion Group names key execs to new roles
Global Fashion Group (GFG) has announced a “transformation” of its executive team including Helen Hickman succeeding Matthew Price as CFO in August.
Meanwhile, Jere Calmes will become CEO of The Iconic, GFG’s ANZ
The company has been making major changes in its top team in the last six months and in February announced a co-CEO and leadership transition as Christoph Barchewitz became sole CEO after Patrick Schmidt stepped down as co-CEO.
It also saw Gunjan Soni becoming COO and joining the management board in addition to her previous role as CEO of GFG’s southeast Asia (SEA) business.
The CFO change is happening because Matthew Price is leaving GFG after a handover period at the end of August, to pursue new professional opportunities.
His replacement Helen Hickman is London-based and currently Director of Group Finance. Previously with Tesco
The company said “she is a strong finance professional with over 20 years experience and has been instrumental in building the GFG finance function, preparing its IPO and overseeing the core accounting, controlling and FP&A responsibilities of the CFO remit”.
And the Jere Calmes appointment as CEO of ANZ comes after a successful three-year tenure as CEO of Lamoda, the business that GFG sold in late 2022.
CEO Christoph Barchewitz said: “The transformation of the executive team reflects the priorities and change in complexity and scale of the group. With a leaner and refreshed leadership structure, we are more focused than ever on continuing to advance our platform vision whilst prioritising profitability and improved cash flow in the short term.
“Helen’s appointment as CFO is testament to the strength of our senior leadership team and robust succession planning. Matthew’s impact on GFG extends far beyond financial strategy and performance. He played a crucial role in enabling our IPO, built a strong finance team and drove operational excellence across the group. We are hugely thankful for Matthew’s contributions to the business and wish him all the very best for the future.”
