Rapper Swae Lee, one-half of the hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd, was arrested for marijuana possession in Mississippi on Thursday, according to authorities.
Lee, whose real name is Khalif Malik Ibn Shaman Brown, was arrested during a traffic stop in Biloxi, Mississippi, around 3:30 a.m., Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson told the Sun Herald.
Peterson said a deputy sheriff pulled Lee over for a traffic violation and smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle allegedly turned up less than an ounce of marijuana, Peterson said.
Lee was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Center on a felony charge of possession of marijuana and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Sun Herald.
He was released on a $5,000 bond, Peterson said.
