PUMA Taps Javier Ortega as New General Manager Europe

Following a string of executive moves in recent months, PUMA has announced the appointment of Javier Ortega as general manager of Europe, effective February 1, 2023. Ortega, who previously served as general manager of Europe for Calvin Klein, succeeds Arne Freundt, who left the company in September 2022.

In his new role, Ortega will be responsible for leading the PUMA business across Europe, including developing and implementing strategies to drive growth and profitability. He will also oversee all aspects of the brand’s operations in the region, including sales, marketing, product development, and distribution.

Ortega brings extensive experience in the fashion and retail industries to his new role at PUMA. Prior to his time at Calvin Klein, he held senior leadership positions at Tommy Hilfiger, where he was responsible for various aspects of the brand’s global business. He also has a strong track record in developing and executing successful marketing campaigns, leveraging his expertise in digital and social media channels.

Ortega’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for PUMA, as the company continues to focus on expanding its global reach and strengthening its position in key markets. Europe is a particularly important region for PUMA, accounting for a significant portion of its total sales. The brand has a strong presence in the region, with a wide distribution network and a loyal customer base.
