I have to commend Camila Mendes for managing to combine at least five of this year’s most popular red-carpet fashion trends into a single look without looking too busy or clownish. At the Do Revenge premiere in Los Angeles, the Riverdale star wore an olive green Versace set that hit the mark for monochrome, sheer fabric, corset, opera gloves, and ultra low-rise skirt all at once. Sure, we tend to see combinations of one or two of these looks but rarely altogether.
She kept her styling relatively simple with half-up, half-down hair and dark, heavily lined lips. She accessorized with statement earrings and gold sandals.
Mendes also posted the look to her Instagram, captioning the pictures, “Full Drea cosplay,” a reference to her character Drea in Do Revenge, just released on Netflix. The black comedy also stars Mendes’s fellow It girls Maya Hawke and Sophie Turner.

In the film, Mendes plays a high school student whose sex tape gets leaked by her former boyfriend—leading Drea and her friend to make a pact to get revenge on “the people who screw them,” Mendes told James Corden on The Late Late Show. Based on the trailer—from the tone to the cardigans to the setup—the film feels very much like a Gen Z version of Heathers. Fingers crossed it lives up.
If Do Revenge serves half as much as Camila Mendes’s on-trend red-carpet Versace, it’s in good shape, in my opinion.
