No shirt, no shoes, no service? Not if you’re Selena Gomez!
On February 27, Gomez attended the 2022 SAG Awards to represent her series Only Murders in the Building, which was nominated for best ensemble in a comedy series. The Hollywood star looked phenomenal in an Oscar de la Renta gown, Bulgari jewels, and Christian Louboutin heels, but she did take a little stumble on the silver carpet ahead of the ceremony. Heels are hard, okay?!
Though Gomez was not nominated for an individual award and the Hulu series lost the ensemble award to Ted Lasso, Gomez did take the stage to present the award for outstanding female actor in a supporting role to West Side Story’s Ariana DeBose.
Likely hoping to avoid another incident, Gomez ditched the heels right after her fall and kept them off when she stepped up to the podium with costar Martin Short.

As an added bonus, this put her around the same height as Short.
Shoes or no shoes, Selena Gomez looked very Old Hollywood glam in her first SAG Awards appearance. Her makeup artist Hugh Vanngo posted a video of her before-and-after transformation to his Instagram, and it’s making me want to learn how to properly apply mascara.

Her manicurist Tom Bachik also posted a close-up of her emerald nails (which matched the pop-of-color ring she wore) along with step-by-step instructions for getting the look. “Started with my Ultimate Nail Care Set by @tweezerman for those perfect cuticles,” he captioned the post. “Nail Color ‘Ivy’ by @the_gelbottle_inc 💚 Finished off @hermes nourishing cuticle oil for the perfect hydration 💦.”

Only Murders in the Building has recently finished filming season 2, and the ensemble cast is about to get a lot more stacked. Not only have Amy Schumer and Shirley MacLaine joined on, but model Cara Delevingne came through to play Alice, an art-world expert who becomes embroiled in next season’s mystery.
“Selena is a very special friend, and it’s been so fun to get to work with her for the first time. Well, actually, second time,” Delevingne recently told elle.com. “She actually hired me when I had just become a model, and she had designed a clothing line. We have known each other a long time. And, of course, working with Steve Martin and Martin Short is like a master class in comedy. I feel so lucky to get the opportunity.”
Maybe next year Gomez and Co. will take home that SAG ensemble award and she can step on the stage again…with or without shoes.
