Amal Clooney could have been mistaken for royalty at the 2023 DVF Awards in Venice. The famed attorney arrived at the event by water taxi with Oscar-winning husband George Clooney in tow. As usual, George kept it classic in a fitted suit. Amal, however, pulled a nude-pink vintage John Galliano for Christian Dior slip dress with lace and tulle flourishes from the designer’s fall 2000 collection for the occasion, where she was honored with a leadership award for her work on behalf of abuse victims. But I have to say, the stunning gown still played second fiddle to her princess-worthy glam.
If you can believe it, the person responsible for Amal’s hair and makeup that evening was none other than hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos. He’s the same stylist who added those enviable English toffee highlights to her signature brunette mane, not to mention the bouncy bombshell blowouts she’s been rocking all week. Big glamorous hair has been enjoying a well-deserved red-carpet renaissance as of late, thanks to the likes of Sydney Sweeney, Beyoncé, and Gigi Hadid. And clearly, Amal must have gotten the memo. Giannetos pulled her softly curled strands into a half-up, half-down style, leaving a few tendrils loose to frame her face and call attention to her pearl-drop earrings. Giannetos appears to have finished the look with a healthy dusting of bronzer across the high planes of her face, followed by shimmering pink eye shadow and a nude-pink lip.
Amal Clooney touched down in Venice earlier this week and immediately got to work serving up style inspiration. After kicking things off with a sleeveless white shift dress and slingback heels for daytime, she changed into an emerald green cowl-neck slip dress from Dundas for dinner with George at local hotspot Ristorante Da Ivo. The pair have have been married for almost nine years now and ahve twins Ella and Alexander as well as a home on Lake Como in Northern Italy.
