It is a truth universally acknowledged that a little black dress is always the right call. Preferably Dior, if you’re Jennifer Lawrence. The No Hard Feelings actor stuck to the classics at the WWD Honors on October 24, in a chic black sheath dress from the Dior Spring 2024 collection.
Classic doesn’t mean boring, of course, and Lawrence’s dress features plenty of design details to make it interesting. While the midi-length pencil skirt and belt at the waist are bringing Mad Men energy, the off-the-shoulder V neckline adds drama, which Lawrence emphasized with her styling. She added a heavy gold bangle bracelet and statement Elsa Peretti earrings, finishing with simple nude stilettos. A sleek ponytail and bold red lip completed the timeless look.
Jennifer Lawrence has a longstanding relationship with Dior, which is why we rarely see her wear anything else on the red carpet. And this WWD event honored Maria Grazia Chiuri, Dior’s creative director. On Instagram, Chiuri posted a clip of Lawrence’s remarks and wrote in her caption, “Thank you Jennifer for being with me tonight and for remembering such special life moments we shared. I would like to dedicate this award to you and all the women who, through collaborations and conversations, allow me to reflect on the meaning of womanhood today.”
